Our annual holiday party will take place on Sunday, December 7, 2008 from 4:00
to 6:00 PM at the home of

Lois once again hosts the Johnson Club's annual holiday party. With hors d'ouvres and
beverages supplied by the board – at no cost to you – it MUST be Christmas! You'll get to catch up
on the year with folks you haven't seen, maintain friendships, network, and generally relax at the end of your
shopping weekend. You know you've earned it!

Past Event: Annual Summer Picnic, 2008
The Johnson Club held its annual summer picnic on Sunday, August 10th, 2008 at the home of board-member Linda Hunt, MBA '79 and her husband Will Hunt. Everyone had a great time—eating, drinking, and catching up with fellow Johnson School alums. Be sure to join us again in August, 2009 as we continue this tradition.

Past Event: Lecture with Prof. Douglas Stayman
On April 30, 2008, the Johnson Club of Rochester's Spring Faculty Speaker
and Networking Event featured
Doug Stayman, Professor of Marketing and Associate Dean for Curriculum. Professor Stayman's presentation
was titled, "Will The Traditional MBA Program Survive?". Some photographs of the

Professor
Stayman gave a fascinating overview of how MBA programs are evolving and expanding. The event took place at
Tasteology, which provided wine and delicious appetizers.

Lois Niland ’76, MBA ’78.
Lois once again hosted the Johnson Club's annual holiday party. With hors d'ouvres and
beverages supplied by the board, everyone was filled with holiday cheer.
This year we had a special
guest: Lynne Allen, Johnson
School Alumni Career Advisor, attended the party.

Here are directions provided by Anne Jacobs:
- Get to Routes 5 & 20.
- Go East on Routes 5 & 20 to Hickock Road. There is a caution light at this
intersection.
- Turn right onto Hickock. Hickock dead ends at Route 21.
- Take Route 21 South through the Village of Cheshire.
- Count 4 left hand streets. The 4th street will be Seneca Point Road.
- Take Seneca Point Road. That's a left.
- At the stop sign, turn left again onto West Lake Road, also known as
County Route 16.
- Go to the bottom of the hill and turn right onto Coy Road.
- Watch for five matching black mailboxes on the left side of Coy Road. Go past
these five mailboxes. Take the middle black top driveway. This is a left-hand turn. Note the name: Star Haven.
- Drive down the driveway, past the house, under the trellis and park on
the beach.
- The address is 5281 Black Point Drive, Canandaigua.

This well-attended lecture was a fascinating look at the intersection between art and business. The event was another
instance of collaboration between two Rochester-area Ivy alumni clubs – the Johnson Club, and the Harvard Business

"How To Make Billions And Bring World Peace!" Spring 2006 All-Ivy Speaker Event
On May 4th, 2006, the Johnson Club of Rochester presented Stuart L. Hart, Samuel C. Johnson Professor of Sustainable Global
Enterprise, Johnson Graduate School of Management, Cornell University. Professor Stuart Hart, one of the world's
top authorities on the implications of sustainable business development and environmentalism for business strategy,
explored a better way to make money, while improving the world's prospects for long run growth, prosperity and
peace. Companies that live in their local markets, observing and listening to them, can develop such markets
to make money in new ways.
This lecture was open to alumni of other distinguished universities and was another
instance of collaboration among local Ivy clubs. Some photos of the event are

On December 11, local Johnson School alumni gathered for some holiday cheer at the home of board member Lois Niland.

Past Activity: Fall 2005 speaker event, with Prof. Robert H. Frank from the Johnson School
On the evening of Wednesday, October 19, 2005. Professor
Robert H. Frank drove up from Ithaca to
deliver a fascinating lecture titled, “Does rising inequality harm the middle class?”. The event took place at the Strathallan
hotel in Rochester. The lecture was attended by alumni from Cornell, as well as from other Ivy League universities.
